The results in Table 3 show that χ 2 cal = 40.60 > χ 2 lu = 40.11 at .05 threshold; the relationship is significant. In addition, the contingency coefficient ( C = .25) suggests that there is a moderate relationship between the emotional experiences of hearing parents and the degree of deafness.
