The total loss per year on account of CD is equivalent to 0.076 year life expectancy loss on the whole world. The life year loss due to CD is 30.77% of that of NCD. b) Shortening of Life Expectancy Environmental pollution has adverse effect on human life. It shortens the life expectancy. Overall, the picture of world life year losses (2020) is shown in figure 3.1.
