Figure 9b: Wilcox Plot of Boreholes Tapping Middle and Lower Aquifer VII. C onclusion Results of hydrochemical studies of both surface and groundwater in parts of the Chad basin shows that the water is acidic and alkaline. The study further reveals that the Warodi wells 24 and 25 is highly enriched in sodium and other anions which are above the permissible limits (WHO, 2020) which may cause laxative effect such as gastrointestinal pains thereby leading to death in most cases. This has been confirmed in this study as animals that drank the water from this wells died instantly according to the villagers and so all the wells were abandoned. Further research may be required for the confirmation of this to ascertain the result of higher pollution of the wells in the area. It may be also recommended that, other water sources be developed to supplement the existing ones and also the need to advance this research to microbial, heavy metals and isotopic studies is necessary to ascertain the reason for higher major elements in the wells. 1 0 0 1 0 0 0 S a l i n i t y H a z a r d ( C o n d ) 0 6 1 3 1 9 2 6 3 2 SodiumHazard (SAR) 2 5 0 7 5 0 2 2 5 0 C 1 C 2 C 3 C 4 S 1 S 2 S 3 S 4 A E J K K W S N T F L M S W P Q N S T U J L Y Z B C N A L E G E N A H W 1 E H W 2 J H W 3 K H W 4 K H W 5 W H W 6 S H W 7 N H W 8 T H W 9 N H W 1 0 F H W 1 1 L H W 1 2 M H W 1 3 S H W 1 4 W H W 1 5 P H W 1 6 Q H W 1 7 N H W 1 8 S H W 1 9 T H W 2 0 U H W 2 1 V H W 2 2 J H W 2 3 L H W 2 4 Y H W 2 5 Z H W 2 6 A H W 2 7 B H W 2 8 C H W 2 9 N H W 3 0 Hydrochemical Assessment of Surface and Groundwater in Some Selected Communities of Borno and Yobe State 1 Year 2023 67 © 2023 Global Journals Global Journal of Science Frontier Research Volume XXIII Issue ersion I VI ( H ) R eferences R éférences R eferencias
